The Town

Narsapur is a small coastal town in West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh — known across India as the lace capital of the country. For over 200 years, the women here have kept the tradition of crochet alive, working from their homes, passing the craft from one generation to the next without interruption.

The Craft

Each charm on this collection was hand-crocheted by the women of Narsapur — no machines, no shortcuts. The cotton thread is worked stitch by stitch into intricate patterns that have been refined over generations. What you hold in your hand is not just a decorative piece — it is living craft.

Geographical Indication Tag

Geographical Indication Tag — Narsapur Crochet Lace, Registered 2024

Geographical Indication

A craft that belongs to one place. And no other.

In March 2024, the Government of India officially registered Narsapur crochet lace in the Geographical Indications Registry - a formal recognition that this craft belongs to this place and no other.

The GI tag also acknowledges what global markets have long known: Narsapur lace products are exported to the UK, USA and France, held to international standards of quality and craft. The charm on this collection carries that recognition.
